Theia: faint objects in motion, the new Astrometry frontier

Abstract / Resumo 

What is the nature of dark matter? Are there habitable exo-Earths nearby? What is the equation of state of matter in extreme environments? These are the fundamental questions the Theia astrometric space observatory is designed to answer. In this talk I will discuss the scientific, engineering and mission aspects of the Theia proposal that was recently submitted to the ESA/M5 mission call -- and to which CENTRA contributions have been invaluable.
