COST/CERN Conference "The biggest accelerators in Space and on Earth" at CERN, March 18-21 2013, Geneva, Switzerland

This Conference is jointly organized by the COST programme on "Black Holes in a Violent Universe" (see below), the CERN Theory group and the LPCC (LHC Physics Center at CERN). The focus of the workshop are the phenomena taking place at the highest-energies available in the cosmos and in the laboratory, spanning the whole range from the most luminous events in space (Black Hole accretion, AGN jets, Gamma Ray Bursts, Cosmic Rays, etc) to the exploration, of new particles and quantum gravity phenomena (searches for black holes, dark matter, theoretical understanding of the information properties of black holes, properties of the event horizon, etc.). The goal of the meeting is to bring together experts from the two communities of astrophysics and particle physics, and share with each other the latest developments and open issues in their respective field.

As part of the program, a visit to the LHC is foreseen. We have chosen the date of the meeting to accommodate with the LHC schedule.

This meeting is open to every scientist interested in this subject. The participants do not have to belong to the COST Action in order to participate in this meeting! Registration is free and open now. Limited funding is available. Please ask for funding when registering.
