Resumo

Understanding when and how the earliest Super Massive Black Holes (SMBHs) were born and how they evolved ever since are crucial questions in the area of extra-galactic astronomy. With the latest developments in both the observational and simulation sides, it starts to be of the utmost interest to compare both perspectives in order to delineate best strategy practices in searching for the first AGN in sky surveys, both those already underway and those planned for the near-future. In this work, we explore semi-analytic models and hydrodynamical simulations as also state-of-the-art observational constrains, at X-rays and radio spectral regimes, in order to estimate the predicted X-ray and radio luminosity functions of AGNs at redshifts up to the Epoch of Reionization (z~8-10). We use this work to estimate the expected number of powerful AGN detectable in sky surveys to be performed with future facilities such as ASKAP, SKA, and ATHENA.
